Now everyone can have a Bread Card!

12 October 2009

It's now much easier to get a BREAD Card!

Until recently, we couldn't issue a BREAD Card to you unless we could verify your identity electronically.

But for some people this can't be done - you may have moved recently, or share accommodation, or maybe you just arrived in the UK and you haven't had time to register for everything yet.

Well, the good news is: now we can almost certainly issue you with a BREAD Card, even if you might have struggled in the past!

If you log on to our website and apply for a card, we will try to verify your ID electronically.

If we cannot verify your ID electronically we can STILL send you a BREAD Card, with certain temporary spending restrictions as follows:

- maximum spend per year £1650

- maximum cash withdrawals per year: £650

- no secondary cards allowed

Your card will operate normally until you hit these limits, but you must send in ID documents asap to have these restrictions removed. Full instructions on how to do this are on our website. We will email you to warn you if you are approaching your limits in advance.

Go to now to apply and get your card!!
